The brown tom made his way towards the apprentice den from where he had just finished having breakfast of a raven. Elkpaw was still getting used to the feeling of being in a clan. After all he had only been here about a moon.
Sighing the mature apprentice slipped into the apprentice den and looked around at the familiar bedded nests scattered throughout the nice sized den. He found his nest in the very back and headed over there. The black raven feathers that was clenched in his jaws that he had saved from his prey would be a good padding for his nest. He had felt uncomfortable and needed to change something about it if he was to get a good nights rest.
Sighing he plopped down an began to weave the bird feathers through the moss and reeds of his nest

A small gray she-cat watched Elkpaw from across the den. He had arrived and joined the Clan only a moon ago and she had been awkwardly stalking him since. He was a handsome brown tom with white and tabby patches and she had decided he was her first crush. An idea flirty Starlingpaw had taught her. Mousepaw desperately wanted to meet him but...she couldn't. She was a mute, how could she possibly meet him? He would have had to know her long enough to understand the gestures she used in place of words. No...it was not meant to be. Instead, she watched him bustle around his nest and fantasized about the conversation. Hi! What are you doing? ------- Oh! Raven feathers! Those have prickly ends though. You'd be better off finding some soft moss. Feathers may seem like a good idea, but they'll poke you when you try to use them. -------- No problem! My name's Mousepaw by the way. ------- Nice to meet you She mentally blushed and tried to push the imaginary meeting out of her head.
Hearing a movement behind him the tom paused and looked over his shoulder until one visibly green eye focused on the shecat in the den. He raised a brow at her dreamy look.
Fantasizing? About what? He inwardly scoffed and returned to weaving the bird feathers into his nest. As he finished the tom sighed again before going to test it out.
He carefully climbed in and curled up as he used to and waited a few moments as he tried to figure out if it was comfortable or not. He hummed thoughtfully and shifted in his best. A small smile of satisfaction crossed his face as he found it was pleasant enough. He could sleep peacefully now.
Climbing out of his nest he stretched and purred a his spine cracked nicely. He sat down an began grooming himself as he reminisced about his past.

Elkpaw caught her looking at him but turned away before she could register it and look away. Mousepaw blushed, this was the first time he'd caught her. As she sat there, he laid down on his nest for few moment, shifted, then got up. He was obviously satisfied. Mousepaw frowned. Finally, she worked up the nerve to go up to him. She sat down in front of him and blinked to say hello. He heart was pounding, wondering what his response would be.

Elkpaw was so mature for his age, it would have made her laugh if she could. She shook her head and tried to speak. As always, she made no sound. She wished Starlingpaw was here, her sister always seemed to be able to know what she was thinking. Starlingpaw could have helped her. But she wasn't here and now this was up to Mousepaw. She trued to think of a way to communicate other than signals. Maybe he could read lips? She tried it. My name is Mousepaw. She mouthed carefully, still looking up at him.
He frowned slightly as she mouthed the words. So she couldn't speak huh? "Your...mute?" He stated more to himself than her.
That would explain her quietness. "Elkpaw." He replied after a moment an gave her a nod of greetings. "Nice to meet you Mousepaw." He moewed, more so in letting her know that he understood. He wasnt too great at reading lips but it wasnt too hard if you paid attention.

She nodded emphatically with a smile. Nice to meet you. Welcome to the Clan. He seemed nice to her, Mousepaw wondered why Starlingpaw didn't like him. Do you...want to play mossball? She looked at him hopefully, then doubted herself. He was so mature, maybe he thought that was kitlike? Did he only enjoy hunting and fighting?
He hesitated at her question. He wasnt much into games as he hasn't really the time when he was a loner. "I...haven't exactly had experience in games." He offered her an apologetic smile. "But I...I suppose there is a first for everything." He conceded.

She smiled and hurried to find a ball of moss. There was a patch at the edge of camp which she brought back to the entrance of the den. Mousepaw motioned for him to come out of the den and batted the ball of moss towards him. She hadn't been this open in moons, but she liked Elkpaw. He was sweet, he just didn't like to show it.
He followed her towards the den entrance and watched a she ran off to find something. His eyes focused on the ball of green/brown bundle of moss. So that was mossball?
He followed out into the open and flinched when the ball was batted at him. He awkwardly tried to catch it; clearly not used to these sort of things. Missing it he merely went to grab it and smack it back at Mousepaw.

She caught it easily and mentally laughed at him. See? It's not so hard. They batted it back and forth and she grinned. Starlingpaw had stopped playing mossball before they were even apprentices, so it had been a long time. Why'd you decide to join CreekClan? She questioned curiously.
He watched her every few moments as they continued batting I back and forth. For one who could not talk she talked alot. He gave a iny smile. "Grew up as a loner my mother died a few moons ago and I had a hard time taking care of my siblings alone so I decided to join a clan to help support my siblings and myself. My sites Spring decided to go somewhere else but my brother Raven stayed here with me." He replied. He didn't say anything about his father because frankly he despised the tom he should call his father.
