Name: Poppypaw
Age: 6 moons
Gender: she-cat
Personality: 1Poppypaw is a joyful young cat. She has a genuine love for life, her clan, and the larger world around her. She's an absolute sweetheart, and according to some "not warrior material". She has a genuine dislike for fighting, and would rather talk over conflict than to jump to claws and teeth. She has a fear of fighting, and is prone to having night terrors of being killed on the battlefield, which have only increased since she became an apprentice.
Poppypaw's true love is kits. Even if she's only just left the Nursery herself a part of her is already anticipating her return. She's one to hang around the Queens and offer assistance on their kits, and is often the first to offer to babysit them. She has yet to be trusted with that task, but she's eager to get her chance. Besides that, she tends to hang around the elders and listen to them and their stories. She's in awe of their life and adventures.
Poppypaw is fueled by a desire to please others. She is constantly seeking some sort of self assurance or another. She is driven to please her mentor and leader. While she doesn't necessarily have aspirations to become deputy or even leader someday, she is deeply determined to become the best warrior she can be and live her life to the fullest. She's a romantic at heart, and can be taken by flights of fancy.
For a cat set on the warrior's path Poppypaw is deeply spiritual and more importantly superstitious. She would do anything to earn her ancestor's blessings and takes things about the warrior code a little too seriously.
Positive Traits: Loyal, peace seeking, kind
Neutral Traits: motherly, adventurous, determined
Negative Traits: fearful, too trusting, easily manipulated
Skills: Poppypaw is still an apprentice, and as such her skills aren't fully developed. However, with proper instruction she will grow up to be a talented tracker, a fast runner, and a decent hunter. Her fighting will never be up to par, however, but she is decent at using her words to get out of an argument.
Appearance: Poppypaw is a short and slim she-cat. Unlike most members of her clan, she has short, jet-black fur that tends to gleam no matter if it's from sunlight or moonlight. Her paws are light and nimble, making her a fantastic runner. She's a lightweight though, and easy to take down in a fight if you can grab her. She has limited body strength but she makes up for it by striking quickly and often.
History:
0-6 moons:
Poppypaw was the only kit born in her mother's first and only litter. Bluestripe was somewhat of a loner of in the clan, and despite the number of cats asking her, the pretty she-cat never revealed who the father of her kit was to the general population. She did eventually reveal to her sister Mistyflower that it had been an unpopular tomcat named Blacktail. Bluestripe was a young mother, and Poppypaw's birth was difficult on her. Bluestripe ended up passing away from bleeding out . She hadn't communicated with the medcine cat as well as she should, and when she finally deemed her bleeding had gone on for far too long it was too late for the healer to do anything for her. Thankfully for Poppypaw, Mistyflower had kits and was able to take on the black she-cat as her adopted daughter.
Poppypaw was armored of her adopted family. She did everything she could to please her new mother and siblings. She wasn't one to get in trouble, however, and was often sitting back while the other kits went on wild adventures. While Mistyflower had treated Poppypaw like her own kit, her blood kits were older and reminded their younger cousin of this at every opportunity they had. They weren't necessarily trying to be vicious, but it was the thing that came up in their young conversations. She felt too guilty to cause trouble for her aunt, and endlessly considered herself a burden. Eventually Mistyflower revealed to her that her father had been Blacktail, and the she-cat only worked harder to be a positive addition to the clan as she was fearful that popular opinion on her father would also taint how the others would see her. When at last she became an apprentice, she did so with mix emotions. She was sad to leave the Nursery but also excited to start her new life as a warrior.
